I’d turned Colin (Dyson) down on the previous occasion I was invited to write articles for the magazine he edited, Coarse Angler, and thought nothing more of it. Who the hell was Bob Roberts to be writing in such an authoritative journal? The
But he came back a year later because what I had to offer was exactly what Colin wanted and he wasn’t one to take ‘no’ for an answer that easily.
I’d never written anything before this but once I’d opened Pandora’s Box there could be no going back. It turned out that I had some kind of gift for writing and later on for photography.
Here’s how it all began:
Do you still have a dabble at match fishing, Bob?
I used to like fishing those evening matches on the Trent, they were great fun they were & hard work too but a challenge to compete in such a short time, shame all the match angler’s turned to the commercials.
